I’m going for a real artsy post today. I took this when I was in my Grade 12 yearbook class. This was one of my more “purposeful” artsy photos and I’m quite impressed with myself.
I took this in my room, on my desk with a camping flashlight… or something like that.
This is Murphy, my now 10 month old puppy. Yesterday, it was nice and warm and Murphy had a ball in his pool.
Today, it has become more of a typical Canadian spring day and it’s cold.
But my little Murphy is a dog of simple tastes. No expensive dog bed for him. One simple pool is good enough bed for this pooch. That’s my Murphy.
I used the King Camera for the first time and I’m quite impressed. Definitely going to use it again!
This was taken last year during our “Frosh” week. I am currently taking a year off but I am very excited to return! With these portfolio photos that I am publishing, I hope to use them to get into the school’s paper or yearbook or something like that!
This was taken from the 5th floor of my dorm room. Yep, thats right, this was a constant view. Loooooved it.
And finally, I took this when I was walking back from the library. I just love my school – it is just so beautiful!
I am a summer girl.
I love summer. I love the heat. The bright, long days. The warm breeze. The cool, refreshing dips in the lake. The satisfaction of a cold drink and/or ice cream from Dairy Queen. The crickets chirping. The Sunrises. The Sunsets. The blue, blue skies. The sun-tans. Lying on warm grass. The walks through trails.
In general, just being outside is something I look forward to every year.
Every time I look at these photos, I get really excited for the possibilities of what I can do.
Of course I want to work – this girl can’t be paid for just being awesome.
I hope to be rowing as well. Of course waking up for 5 am practices are hell, but it is worth it. Being awake and on a boat at 530 in the morning is quite an interesting time to be awake. Its super quiet. No one sane enough is awake and that leads to a calmness in the air. Now that I have a nice camera, I want to take some photos of these mornings.
Maybe not this summer, but one summer in the next 3 to 4 years, I want to travel. I am not sure where but since I am becoming a young adult, I want to be independent and do some things for myself. I am starting to piece together prices and what I would like to do.
Coming near my 20’s, I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or advice for someone (a student) who wants to travel. How much should I save? Where should I go? What to bring? For how long? Tours? Hostels? Volunteer Trips? Anyone with advice and tips please let me know! I would love to hear from personal experience.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day to you all! Though I am not fully Irish, my family is a mix of United Kingdom and Irish heritage which I am all very proud of. Today, I’m rocking my favorite rugby jersey: the Green O2 Irish Jersey.
I need to wear it more often.
As well, I got my Irish Playlist ready to go: The Chieftains, Flogging Molly, The soundtrack to Lord of the Dance (which I absolutely love ever since I was 5), the soundtrack to Riverdance, The Corrs, U2, Enya. I admit, I don’t listen to them as much as I should, but traditional and modern celtic music are my favorite genres of music.
Today’s photo comes from none other than Ireland itself. I didn’t really notice at the time, but when we were touring through, my mother told me that I looked incredibly Irish.
I really love this photo: just how bright the land looked that day – one of few where we actually saw blue sky this magnificent. As well, I love how there seems to be a mirror image of the sky with the water and how the luscious green landscape – which took my breath away – seemed to create this beautiful divide.
I wish you all a wonderful Saint Patrick’s day and may your choice of drink be wonderful! But if you are partaking in any alcoholic beverages, please don’t be stupid and drink and drive!
Happy Pi Day!
Here is some photos I took yesterday. It was the first good day to be out and about and I decided to take the opportunity to take some “outdoorisy” shots.
As the days become more spring then winter, I hope to be doing this more often! Enjoy!
I am a huge Doctor Who fan, but every time I see an statue of an angel I cringe a little.
I never blink around them. Never.
I took this a while back when walking through London. I really do miss traveling. Even though I am currently in university, I want to find ways to travel around on a student budget. Suggestions?
